Rachel Peterson an achievement oriented Organizational Development and HR specialist with 25 years of professional experience working in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Asia, Africa, The Caucasus, and the Balkans, managing expatriate activity and projects in diverse sectors (mining, banking and finance, health care reform, agri-business development, etc). She is self-reliant, resourceful, and she excels in challenging international business environments.

A change management leader, her emphasis has been on organizational development, strategic planning, human resources management, development project administration and finance, training, facilitation, and recently, coaching.

Working in developing countries, Ms. Peterson is skilled at effectively navigating the political, cultural and social obstacles to establish offices, recruit and hire solid local staff, enter into contractual agreements with appropriate local service firms, and get connected with the commercial sector as well as put the systems into place so that the headquarters offices and departments can successfully interact with the field offices.

Ms. Peterson’s developing economies management experience includes USAID project management, NGO country program management, private sector departmental management, strategic work planning, results frameworks, and performance and measurement systems. She is also skilled in team building, team planning, and the development of strategic work plans.

She has an M.A. degree in international economics, B.A. in international affairs, B.A. in Latin American studies, and is formally trained in Facilitation and Training of Trainers. Ms. Peterson is bilingual in Spanish and English, and has worked in Georgia, Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Jordan, Morocco, Ghana, Uganda, Ecuador, Guatemala, El Salvador, Peru, Spain, Thailand and Bangladesh, and she is just completing a long term contract in southern Armenia.
