The four-month assignment
with the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) was not directly
funded or supported by any agency or international development corporation.
I was hired directly by the Nigerian Government and worked independently
with the local staff. There were three components to the assignment.
- To establish
the organizational structure for and a credit administration system
for the Receivership and Liquidation Department, (part of the measures
taken by the Central Bank of Nigeria to restructure the banking industry).
- To develop a
risk asset management manual (table of contents is found below) for
department operating policies and procedures in credit administration,
asset management, credit recovery, and asset disposition.
- To create and
teach specialized training seminars and workshops in: Credit
Administration, Financial Statement Analysis, Loan
Workouts/Credit Recoveries, Net Present Value Analysis,
