The four-month assignment with the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) was not directly funded or supported by any agency or international development corporation. I was hired directly by the Nigerian Government and worked independently with the local staff. There were three components to the assignment.

  1. To establish the organizational structure for and a credit administration system for the Receivership and Liquidation Department, (part of the measures taken by the Central Bank of Nigeria to restructure the banking industry).
  2. To develop a risk asset management manual (table of contents is found below) for department operating policies and procedures in credit administration, asset management, credit recovery, and asset disposition.
  3. To create and teach specialized training seminars and workshops in: “Credit Administration,” “Financial Statement Analysis,” “Loan Workouts/Credit Recoveries,” “Net Present Value Analysis,” “Documentation,” “Record Keeping,” “Lotus 1-2-3,” and the “HP12C.”
