ALBANIA:
LAND OF EAGLES (and stolen cars)

This trip and this tale took place in the summer of 1996, nine months before the financial pyramid schemes and the anarchists and gangsters took over the country - the images and observations reflect a very different Albania than the one that exists today.

All of the names of the Americans in these stories have been changed to protect the good, the bad, and the ugly (apologies to Clint Eastwood!). The Albanian names are real, only because they were wonderful people and they should be recognized.
